History of the Law OfficesThe Law Offices was founded in 2008 as a Washington, DC boutique specializing in African investment law. The original members were principal counsel Peter C. Hansen and counsel Renaud Beauchard and Akua Gyekye. Following Ms. Gyekye's departure, the firm welcomed J. Michael King as counsel.
In addition to its work on African projects for both private and public clients, the Law Offices has developed a major profile as a U.S. policy shop on Africa. Its members have briefed the World Bank, the U.S. Congress, U.S. and foreign executive agencies, political campaigns, think tanks and specialist conferences.
Since its inception, the Law Offices has developed additional niche practices in international civil service law, rule-of-law programs and international debarment and sanctions defense.
